Become a Westmoreland Student

Applying to Westmoreland is the first step in your Ambitious journey. Whether you are applying to a degree program, the police academy or other programs like Nurse Aide, it's easy to get started.

When you click on the application link, you will need to first set up an account. It takes no time at all. Then you will select the application that best suits your journey. Each application is easy to complete and once you save your application and hit "submit" you are on your way.  It's that easy!

Application Steps for Degree, Diploma or Certificate Credit Programs

Step 1 - Apply to Westmoreland

The first step is to complete the FREE online application for admission. All applications take 24 hours to process.  Also, note that the health professions programs require an additional application.

We recommend you meet with an admissions representative to review information about your desired academic program, the admission process, available scholarships and other helpful onboarding information.  To schedule an appointment with one of our admissions representatives, please call our Information Center at 724-925-4000.  

Step 2 - Apply for Financial Aid & Scholarships

Begin by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov. Westmoreland's school code is 010176. See our Financial Aid page for additional information.

Each year alumni, friends, community members and corporate partners give funds to the Westmoreland County Community College Educational Foundation to provide scholarships for students. Any new or returning, credential-seeking student is eligible to apply for foundation scholarships.

Step 3 - Obtain Official Transcripts & Test Scores

Have your high school transcript sent to Westmoreland. If you are transferring credits from another college, have official transcripts sent to us. If applicable, send GED scores, SAT or ACT scores to Westmoreland.  Transcripts can be emailed to: transcriptsFREEWESTMORELAND or mailed to us:

If you are a homeschool student, we will need the following (these documents can be sent to transcriptsFREEWESTMORELAND:

  • diploma, signed by your home school evaluator
  • twelfth grade evaluation, signed by the same evaluator 
  • final transcript    

Step 4 - Meet With Your Pathways Advisor

Once you have completed steps 1-3, you can contact Placement at placementtestingFREEWESTMORELAND or 724 925-6893 to set up your math placement and advisor appointment.

Campus Tours
