Student Life at Westmoreland | Westmoreland County Community College, Youngwood, Pennsylvania

Get Involved

Take a trip with friends and make some new ones

Each semester, Westmoreland students have the opportunity to participate in student trips. Past trips have included New York City and Maryland. Trips to points of interest in Pittsburgh are also planned, as well as trips to Pirates games. In most cases, students pay a minimal fee with their valid ID and transportation is provided. It’s a great and inexpensive way to learn something new, meet someone new and have fun!

Activities, entertainment to help you de-stress

The student-run Campus Events Committee is always planning something to help entertain students. Comedians, musicians, poets, magicians and more have performed at our Youngwood campus and other locations. Many of these activities are scheduled around lunch time. In addition, the last week before finals is dubbed “Stress Less” week and includes messages and more to help students relax.

We strive to assist military students

Westmoreland offers registration for veterans and military-affiliated students one week prior to open registration for each semester. Military students have a designated space in the Student Achievement Center on the Youngwood campus where they can socialize, study and relax. Each semester, military students attend meet-and-greet events, Veterans Day programs, health/wellness presentations, meetings with veterans’ employment representatives and more!
