Financial Aid | Westmoreland County Community College, Youngwood, Pennsylvania

You Can Afford College With Financial Aid

Special announcement from the Financial Aid Office

Due to recent last-minute changes by the U.S. Department of Education, the financial aid process is taking longer than usual. As a result, Financial Aid offers are taking more time to be created, reviewed, and finalized. We are calculating each student's financial aid individually to make sure awards are as accurate as possible to reduce the need for changes later.

Our Financial Aid Office is working hard to prepare aid offers for all students who have applied, and qualify for financial aid. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete each offer as quickly as possible. Please continue to check your Student Portal for updates.

Financial aid is a grant, scholarship, loan or employment opportunity that assists students with educational expenses.

Most financial aid is awarded on the basis of financial need, or the difference between the cost of education (tuition, fees, books, transportation, etc.) and the amount parents and/or students can contribute toward these expenses.

Westmoreland participates in several state and federal financial aid programs. Our staff is always available to help students and their families navigate the steps involved in applying for and receiving aid. Click here for the types of financial aid  available.
