Become a Westmoreland Student
Applying to Westmoreland is the first step in your Ambitious journey. Whether you are applying to a degree program, the police academy or other programs like Nurse Aide, it's easy to get started.
When you click on the application link, you will need to first set up an account. It takes no time at all. Then you will select the application that best suits your journey. Each application is easy to complete and once you save your application and hit "submit" you are on your way. It's that easy!

Application Steps for Degree, Diploma or Certificate Credit Programs
Step 1 - Apply to Westmoreland
The first step is to complete the FREE online application for admission. All applications take 24 hours to process. Also, note that the health professions programs require an additional application.
We recommend you meet with an admissions representative to review information about your desired academic program, the admission process, available scholarships and other helpful onboarding information. To schedule an appointment with one of our admissions representatives, please call our Information Center at 724-925-4000.
Step 2 - Apply for Financial Aid
Begin by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov. Westmoreland's school code is 010176. See our Financial Aid page for additional information.
Step 3 - Obtain Official Transcripts & Test Scores
Have your high school transcript sent to Westmoreland. If you are transferring credits from another college, have official transcripts sent to us. If applicable, send GED scores, SAT or ACT scores to Westmoreland. Transcripts can be emailed to: transcriptsFREEWESTMORELAND or mailed to us:

Step 4 - Meet With Your Pathways Advisor
Once steps 1-3 are complete and we have received your transcripts and test scores, you are ready to meet with a Pathway Advisor who will discuss the math assessment and register you into classes. To set up this session, please contact the Information Center at 724 925-4000. The Information Center is available Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. & 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. In some cases, academic skills checks will be adminstered. Step 5 - Schedule Classes
The educational planning session will include a discussion of your life and career goals, an overview of academic programs and registration for courses in the upcoming semester. Registering for classes can only happen after your application has been completed. All applications take a minimum of 24 hours to process.

Admission appointments are offered In-person, over the phone, and through Zoom. We try to accommodate walk-in hours daily, but at varying times. Please contact the Information Center at 724 925-4000 to either set up an appointment or inquire about upcoming walk-in options.
As of Monday, April 3, Admissions is offering walk-in Admission appointments on Monday and Thursdays from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (please call ahead to confirm).
*Please arrive 30 minutes prior to walk-in hours ending so we can accommodate you!
Campus Tours
Take a tour! We try our best to provide group tours of the main campus (in Youngwood) on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Please call the Information Center at 724-925-4000 to inquire about upcoming tour dates/times and to reserve your spot to see our beautiful campus.
