Students Named to Fall 2023 President's List, Dean's List
Students have been named to the Westmoreland County Community College President's List and Dean's List for the fall 2023 semester.
Full StoryWhile still in high school and considering his career options, Colten Moore of Greensburg wanted to learn more about welding after being a hands-on learner since he was a child. He chose welding based on his curiosity and the enjoyment he gets from taking things apart and fixing them. He also realized early on that some applications required welding to repair certain items.
In a remarkable display of ambition and resilience, students from Ligonier Valley High School are finding great success with dual enrollment programs, thanks to a long-standing partnership with Westmoreland County Community College.
Westmoreland County Community College Professor of English, Michael Hricik of Mt. Pleasant, recently received the James Davenport Award from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) Association for his union advocacy on local and state levels.
In a remarkable tale of resilience and determination, Luke Skledar, a 22-year-old graduate of Westmoreland County Community College's Municipal Police Officers' Training Academy, has defied the odds to pursue his dream career in law enforcement after overcoming a life-threatening medical crisis.
