CNC Router Certification

This certification course trains attendees in operating the CNC Router Machine. Participants will learn to create and upload files, ensure safe operations, execute cuts and engravings, and apply tips for optimal results. Prerequisites: Intro to Woodshop and Intro to 2D Design.
Class will be held at the Westmoreland-Advanced Technology Center.

Laser Cutting Certification

This certification class covers the essentials of operating the Epilog laser cutting machine. Attendees will learn to create and upload files, maintain safe operations, perform cuts and engravings, and utilize techniques for precise results. Prerequisites: Intro to Woodshop and Intro to 2D Design.
Class will be held at the Westmoreland-Advanced Technology Center.

Woodshop Safety Certification

This introductory class familiarizes participants with the equipment in Westmoreland's Makerspace woodshop, including large machinery, handheld power tools, and hand tools. Open to both members and non-members, this course also serves as the equipment certification for members, granting 24/7 woodshop access upon completion. Note: This class is a prerequisite for the Laser Cutting and CNC Router certification classes.

2D Design with Inkscape & Adobe Illustrator

Attendees will learn the basics of 2D CAD design using Inkscape and Adobe Illustrator, focusing on creating files for laser cutting, CNC Router, and CNC Plasma Cutting machines. Prerequisite for: Laser Cutting and CNC Router Certification

Introduction to Vinyl Cutting and Printing

This certification class will introduce attendees to using WCCC Makerspace’s Roland Vinyl Cutting and Printing Machine. Attendees will learn how to set up files correctly for vinyl cutting/printing in Inkscape software and how to properly operate the Roland vinyl cutting/printing machine.
