New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation

Welcome to Westmoreland County Community College! To get you started on your ambitious journey, we invite you to participate in New Student Orientation.

New Student OrientationWhat is New student Orientation?

New Student Orientation is a mandatory half-day experience designed to equip you with what you need to know about academic requirements, campus programs and services, and strategies for success. It is our way of helping you get acclimated to college before your first day of class.

All first-year students are required to participate in New Student Orientation. For your convenience, we offer four half-day sessions. You may choose the session that best fits your schedule.

In addition to providing students with general college information, each of the half-day sessions is designed to help students explore a specific career interest area. Students are not required to attend the session that coincides with their selected major. Rather, students have the opportunity to choose a session in any major. The goal is to equip you to make the best decision about your career path.
