  • Go to Handshake to create or sign in to your employer account.
  • Connect with Westmoreland County Community College.
  • Post your available positions. Be sure to include a thorough description of the position and your application procedures.
    • Tip: Students are more likely to apply for positions that include the salary and list credentials that align with their program. As a reminder, Westmoreland offers certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees. Listing a bachelor’s degree as required or preferred may make it less likely a Westmoreland student will apply.

Recruiting Guidelines

Employers seeking to recruit Westmoreland students and graduates are expected to comply with the guidelines established by the National Association of Colleges and Employers and Westmoreland's Recruiting Policies. Failure to comply with these policies may result in the refusal to post or removal of previously posted job/internship opportunities.

Posting Requirements

When creating a job or internship posting, be sure to include the following information to ensure your position is approved in a timely manner.

  • The type of opportunity you have available - whether it is a full-time, part-time, seasonal, temporary, or internship opportunity
  • Target majors, programs, and interests of Westmoreland students. To learn more about our programs, click here.
  • Include a position title as well as a clear and complete job or internship description including duties and/or responsibilities. Be sure to include the location; if you allow remote workers for your position, there is an option to specify that in your post.
  • Remember: the more information you provide, the better a student can determine if your position aligns with their interests. We strongly encourage postings to include:
    • A detailed description of the position, including requirements such as skills, experience, and education
      • Keep in mind that Westmoreland students and recent alumni are working toward or have recently obtained a certificate, diploma, or associate degree. Depending on their field they may or may not have related experience. As such opportunities that require a bachelor’s degree and/or extensive experience will be declined.
    • Wage/compensation information
