Spring 2023 Student Resources

The Spring Semester is starting soon and we know you have questions.  All of our services are available to help you be successful.  Check out the list of things to know to help you be Ambitious.

The Information Center is available at 724.925.4000 for assistance - Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4p.m. to 5 p.m. or email the Center

Masks are not required at all Westmoreland locations at this time.  Please see our current  Operating Plan.

Frequently Asked Questions for Remote Learning:

Are the computers available for use in the Student Achievement Center?  Yes.  The computer lab is open from 7:45 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Help Desk will be staffed at 8 a.m. 

How can I connect with campus staff, such as my advisor/counselor, financial aid and IT Help Desk?   Students can email their advisor or counselor, or they can call the Information Center at 724.925.4000 to connect with a staff member.   The IT Help Desk can be reached by calling 724 925-5921.

I am having technology issues with remote learning. Is there someone I can contact?  Yes. If you are having issues using D2L, logging into Zoom lectures, etc., you can call the Information Center at 724.925.4000. You can also email the IT Help Desk at helpdeskFREEWESTMORELAND or call 724.925.5921.

I am having issues with getting the books and supplies I need for my classes. Who can I contact?  You can contact your advisor or counselor for assistance with getting your class materials. Check the portal for the name and contact information for your advisor or counselor. If you do not have an advisor or counselor assigned to you, you can call the Information Center at 724.925.4000. 

I am struggling with my mental health during this time. Is there additional help that I can get? Yes. The college has counselors and a social worker available to talk with and support students. To schedule a meeting, students can call the Information Center at 724.925.4000. Students can also access a list of community resources.

Can I get a tutor this spring? Yes. Tutoring and Learning Services is offering tutoring. Request a tutor. Live online tutoring is also available through Brainfuse. To access Brainfuse, click on College Resources in your D2L classroom and then click on Brainfuse. 

How can I connect with other students during the spring semester? The Student Life team provides lots of opportunities for students to gather and get to know one another. You could also join a club or other student organization to meet new people. To find out what’s going on with Student Life, students can view the calendar on the main web site. Don't forget to follow @studentlifeWCCC on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook too.

How will you message me about changes or updates during the semester?  We will message your college email account.

My class has added a book. How do I order the book?  It's super easy. Just log into our online book store and you can order your book to be delivered directly to your home.

When on campus for class, is there any place to eat?

Up and Atom cafe will be open during the spring semester, starting on January 17  - Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.  The cafe will be closed every Friday.  The cafe is located in the Science Innovation Center, formerly Science Hall.

Westly's Cafe will be open during the fall semester, starting on January 17 - Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. 

How do I apply for CARES Act funds? If you believe you are eligible for CARES Act funding, please check out the details on our COVID-19 Emergency Aid page.  If you feel you are eligible, please complete the form.

What are the hours and services available at the educational centers? All educational services at each center are available. Several centers have special hours. Please check the website for details. 

When is the College Store open this semester? The College Store will be open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. during the spring semester.     You can purchase all your Westmoreland gear at the College Store. 

The Enrollment Center: 

The Enrollment Center will be open to help students with services including picking up a degree, diploma or certificate, or getting a Westmoreland ID. If you are planning to pick up your degree, diploma or certificate, you must have received an email confirmation from the college to ensure the documents are ready. If you are unsure, please contact us at 724-925-4000.
