Westmoreland County Community College 1098-T forms were mailed. Please allow two weeks for mail delivery. The college will not reprint 1098-Ts until February 10, 2020.
Each year in January, the IRS requires that Westmoreland County Community College provide 1098-T forms to qualifying students for the preceding calendar year. Per IRS regulations, the 1098-T forms are mailed to the student’s address on file by January 31.
The 1098-T is an informational form filed with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The 1098-T forms are sent to students who had qualified tuition and expenses paid by them in the previous calendar year and can help in the determination of eligibility for certain tax credits. Receiving a 1098-T does not guarantee that you, or the person who may claim you as a dependent, will qualify to claim an education tax credit or deduction.
As a reminder, your payment information is available by logging into the MyWestmoreland portal. Westmoreland County Community College staff cannot determine if you are eligible for tax credits or provide any details regarding the 1098-T. Your accountant, tax preparer or the Internal Revenue Service can best advise you in the utilization of this form when preparing your taxes.
For tax year 2019, Westmoreland County Community College is unable to provide online 1098-T forms. We are hoping, in the near future, to allow students to elect to receive their 1098-T form electronically by giving their consent online. Future correspondence will provide further details.
