Westmoreland to Host an Olympic Culinary Preview Party
December 12, 2019 Youngwood, Pa.Westmoreland County Community College and the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Laurel Highlands Chapter will host an Olympic Culinary Preview Party Saturday, January 18 from 5-8 p.m. at the college’s Student Achievement Center at the Youngwood Campus.
Members of the ACF Regional Culinary Team USA will preview their competition table display before competing in the Internationale Kochkunst (IKA) International Culinary Exhibition (commonly known as the Culinary Olympics) in Stuttgart, Germany.
Guests will meet current ACF Regional Culinary Team USA members including Westmoreland alumni Joe Peroney and previous team members Richard Rosendale, CMC; Keith Coughenour, CEC, AAC; and Shawn Culp, FMP.
The event will also feature interactive food stations provided by Westmoreland’s School of Culinary Arts/Hospitality and the Western Pennsylvania Culinary Arts and Baking/Pastry Programs.
“This event gives us a wonderful opportunity to showcase the current ACF Regional Culinary Team USA as well as our outstanding alumni who have represented Culinary Team USA in past years,” said Dr. Cindy Komarinski, Westmoreland professor/School of Culinary Arts/Hospitality.
A VIP Reception will be held prior to the event from 4-5 p.m. Tickets are $100 per person for the VIP Reception and Preview Party and $75 for the Preview Party only. Tickets are available online at www.acflaurelhighlands.com through January 10, 2020.
