Electrical Utility Technology Grads Hired by West Penn Power

Twenty-five new lines employees hired by West Penn Power are recent graduates of a utility training partnership between Westmoreland County Community College and FirstEnergy.

The FirstEnergy Power systems Institute curriculum for lines employees requires two-and-a-half days each week spent at Westmoreland completing academic course work, with the remainder of the week spent at a West Penn Power training facility in Jeannette.

The graduates earned an associate of applied science degree in Electrical Utility Technology.

"The PSI program continues to produce well-trained, highly skilled employees to provide safe, reliable electric service for our customers," said David W. McDonald, president of West Penn Power.

The new West Penn Power lines employees listed by work locations and hometowns are:
