Financial Aid Process
Step 1: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fasfa.ed.gov and the PA State Grant application at pheaa.org. Students and parents are required to use an FSA ID, made up of a username and password, to complete the FAFSA application. For additional information, please access www.fsaid.ed.gov
Step 2. Check the my.westmoreland.edu portal to make sure we’ve received your FASFA, and for any additional documents we may be requesting from you
Step 3: Accept/Reject your loans. If you have accepted loans, please access studentloans.gov to complete your Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note. If you have received federal student loan funds at Westmoreland, you have already completed your Loan Entrance Counseling & MPN.
Step 4: Check the my.westmoreland.edu portal and your student email for your Financial Aid Award notification.
Step 5: Pay any remaining tuition balance by your payment due date (reflected on your bill) to avoid being dropped from your classes. To determine if a balance exists, take your student bill minus all ‘A’ accepted aid. Financial aid awards in a ‘P’ pending or ‘R’ status should not be considered for financial award credit.
