Expanded Functions Dental Assisting, Certificate

The Expanded Functions Dental Assisting Program is designed to provide advanced training in the skills that are delegated as legal functions for the expanded functions dental assistant by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.  

Candidates for the certificate must have at least three recent years experience as a dental assistant, be a recent graduate of the Westmoreland County Community College Dental Assisting Program and have a current CDA certificate and/or RDH license. 

The program includes lab experience in the college campus facility and clinical experience in a dental office.  Students are responsible to secure a clinical site to complete the clinical portion of the curriculum.
