When is New Student Orientation?

Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (registration begins at 8:15 a.m.) at the Youngwood Campus.

What should I expect of the day?

Students attending this orientation will learn about Westmoreland County Community College and the many things that new students need to know like where are my classes, are there bus connections to this campus, will someone help me with my schedule, will I be assigned an advisor?

Will I need any money?

No, unless you would like to buy your books and college-related materials or Westmoreland apparel.

Can I bring my child with me, is there any daycare?

There is no daycare provided for that day. Guests are encouraged to take part in activities provided to give them a better understanding of the college and what it has to offer.

When will the New Student Orientation be over?

The day’s activities will conclude at 1 p.m.

Fun Facts about Westmoreland:

Westmoreland has Intercollegiate Athletics to offer our students such as coeducational golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s bowling, women’s softball and men’s baseball.

There many organizations students can join such as the Campus Activities Board, Student Government Association, as well as different clubs that are connected to college majors such as Criminal Justice, Nursing, Horticulture, etc.

The college offers several day-trips throughout the year that are sponsored by different campus organizations such as trips to New York City and Washington DC.
