Westmoreland-Advanced Technology Center to host Sustainable Energy Forum April 18

YOUNGWOOD, PA – Westmoreland County Community College will host a Sustainable Energy Forum Wednesday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at its Advanced Technology Center located at 1001 Technology Drive, Suite 1009 in Mt. Pleasant.

The renewable energy industry is experiencing tremendous growth nationwide and across Pennsylvania. The Sustainable Energy Forum is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to discuss trends and technical advancements in the sustainable energy field and show case careers associated with this growth.

Topics will focus on national trends, what southwestern Pennsylvania is experiencing today and will also share ideas on how to harness this growth for the economic betterment of our residents and employers.

Speakers scheduled to address the forum include representatives from National Energy Technology Lab, a U.S. national laboratory under the Department of Energy Office of Fossil Energy; Conservation Consultants; Environmental Entrepreneurs; Penn State Extension; Green Mountain Energy; Solar PV Consulting; and Montauk Energy. In addition, Westmoreland County Commissioners Gina Cerilli and Ted Kopas, Westmoreland County Community College President Tuesday Stanley, and Westmoreland Deans Dr. Byron Kohut and Dr. Cynthia Proctor will also make remarks.

The forum will conclude with a tour of Westmoreland’s Advanced Technology Center.
