Black Lives and the Legacy of George Floyd: A Conversation

Online/Remote

The death of George Floyd shook America by storm at the height of the COVID-19 quarantine. This panel led by Nyle Fort, George Floyd’s aunt Angela Harrison, and his uncle Selwyn Jones will discuss the Black Lives Matter movement at this webinar.

Organized in conjunction with Northampton Community College. Pre-registration is required using this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdEJvlSerOfVwmEinYhZRC2_Kei30qEkXtAV5Od5KtYqjuihw/viewform.

Nyle Fort is a joint Ph.D. candidate in religion and interdisciplinary humanities with a concentration in African American studies. His dissertation, Amazing Grief: African American Mourning and Contemporary Black Activism, is a scholarly meditation on how acts of public grief shape black freedom struggle, with a particular focus on the Movement for Black Lives.
