Manufacturing workers at plantIn partnership with the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC), the nation’s leading industry-led training, assessment and certification organization, Westmoreland County Community College is now an authorized training provider for the Certified Production Technician (CPT) 4.0 program. 

What is CPT 4.0?

CPT 4.0 is a national industry certification accredited under ISO 17024 (personnel certification) and endorsed by the National Association of Manufacturers.  

The goal of the CPT  4.0 certification program is to raise the level of performance of production technicians, to assist individuals in finding higher-wage jobs and to help employers ensure their workforce increases the company’s productivity and competitiveness. 

Why CPT 4.0?

  • Portable, nationally accredited and Federally recognized credential

Program Details

The CPT 4.0 program consists of four 40-hour credentials:

  •         Safety and Employability
  •         Quality Practices and Measurement
  •         Manufacturing Processes and Production
  •         Maintenance Awareness

Passing a credentialing evaluation in one of these areas awards a Certified Production Certification.  MSSC awards certificates to individuals who pass any of the CPT module exams.

Westmoreland is providing this program as part of a grant offered in partnership with the RK Mellon foundation. It is offered at no cost to students. Participants who successfully complete the program are eligible for one free semester at the college (tuition, books and fees included).
